When new Ace Hardware will open in New Holland and what you can expect to find inside - Gainesville Times

“This area can support this type of size of business,” Mark Beverly said. “It may not make sense to build a 40,000-square-foot Ace Hardware maybe in North Hall, but it does here.”

They looked at the property off Jesse Jewell Parkway a couple years ago, but the sellers wanted a bigger name-brand store there. After a few other contracts at other properties fell through for the Beverlys, they went back to the Jesse Jewell location and were able to purchase it. Construction started in April.

“We knew that if we were going to do it, we weren't going to just go into it a little bit, we were going to go all in,” Matt Beverly said.

Beverly’s Ace Hardware has an entrance in the back for contractors and others who need to get in and out quickly. There are even 24 larger parking spots for big trucks and a few extended parking spots for people pulling trailers. There’s a separate checkout for that entrance and it’s all near the Stihl equipment, making it easy for contractors and others who don’t have time to wander through the whole store.

Mark Beverly said Stihl is one of the brands exclusive to Ace Hardware and the reason so many people enjoy shopping at Ace. Stihl, along with some other brands, can’t be found easily at big-box stores.

“Big Green Egg, you're not going to get at any of those. Stihl, you're not going to get at any of those. And so Ace is very protective of their brands,” Mark Beverly said. “So you simply can't get some of this at other places.”

He said Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints are exclusive to Ace, too.

And even though it’s a much larger store than some other Ace Hardwares in the area, the Beverlys want to make sure it still has the small-town hardware store feel.

“When people come in that front door, even though we are a bigger store, we want them to feel that they're going to know the owners, they're going to know the employees, they are going to have that relationship,” Matt Beverly said.

And even with that small-town feel, they’re making sure everyone knows they’re able to handle the big jobs, too. Their warehouse and stock is deep.

“We want to create that environment inside the store, but we want to make sure that others, businesses, know that we do have the capacity to handle their needs.”

As they’re putting the final touches on the store, the Beverlys are thinking back on everything that has led them to this point and are happy to be filling a need they see in the community.

“We grew up in Lawrenceville but did everything in Snellville, and there were two Ace Hardwares in Snellville at the time when we grew up,” Matt Beverly said. “So I definitely remember going into those. Never thought at that point that one day we may own an Ace Hardware.”
